Spanning around 750 square kilometres across Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, Pench is famed for inspiring Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book.” Declared a tiger reserve in 1992, it’s known for its thriving tiger population and varied wildlife.
Kanha Tiger Reserve
One of India’s oldest and most renowned reserves, Kanha spans 940 square kilometres and was established in 1955. With its stunning landscapes of sal and bamboo forests, open grasslands, and picturesque meadows, it also inspired “The Jungle Book.”
Sanjay-Dubri Tiger Reserve
Established in 1975 and covering 1,672 square kilometres, this reserve in northeastern Madhya Pradesh offers a tranquil experience. Part of the Sanjay National Park and Dubri Wildlife Sanctuary, it provides a more untouched wilderness experience compared to other reserves.
